About:

Community Living Toronto has been a source of support for people with an intellectual disability and their families since 1948. We offer a wide range of services including respite, person-directed planning, employment supports, residential programs, and community-based activities. We are proud to support over 4,000 individuals and their families in 80+ locations across Toronto.

The “community living movement” began with families who wanted their children to live in the community, rather than institutions. Today, we continue to advocate for inclusive communities and support the rights and choices of people with an intellectual disability.

Owned and operated by Community Living Toronto, Shadow Lake is a bustling summer home-away-from-home for over 500 guests with special needs and over 80 staff members.

Experience in working with people with disabilities is beneficial but not required. We provide skill-building and training opportunities and are always looking for enthusiastic, caring, and dedicated staff.

Each year Community Living Toronto supports over 4,000 individuals and their families in over 80 locations across Toronto. For over 50 years, Community Living Toronto’s Shadow Lake Camp has provided even greater opportunities to live the organization’s commitment to fostering inclusive communities through a camping experience tailored to ensure individuals with intellectual disabilities enjoy a Canadian summer tradition.
