Help Improve Assistive Tech for Nonverbal Children

Build your own speech-generating device! Nonverbal children and guardians needed for a design workshop.
The purpose of the workshop is to give nonverbal children around the ages of 10 – 15 an opportunity to try out their engineering and design skills, and to improve on a cheap speech-generating device being developed in the lab.

There are three steps required from participants:

  1. An introductory interview with myself, an adult who can attend the workshop with the child (such as a teacher, parent, or friend), and the child.
  2. A workshop in June to build a speech-generating device called TalkBox.
  3. An exit interview.

See flyer for details.
